A resident of Key West, Florida, Nathaniel Linville owns and operates The Angling Company where he can be found on most days when not pursuing his passion for throwing flies 2 fins. He is a committed tournament and world record angler who has won the March Merkin Invitational Permit Tournament three times. He has won the fly division in the Cuda Bowl four times, the Superfly three times, and most recently the prestigious 61st Annual Gold Cup Invitational Tarpon Fly Fishing Tournament in 2024 with Captain Ian Slater.  He is an industry innovator who developed the Cobranagle knot for tarpon fishing. An accomplished writer, his articles regularly appear in his own blog, as well as industry leading magazines.  He teaches fly casting in Key West to students from around the world, as well as travels the world on many fly fishing adventures. He has caught over 250 permit on fly and counting, many with his close friends who are master guides of the waters around Key West. His IGFA records include a 16-pound permit caught on 2-pound tippet, caught with Captains John O'Hearn and Chad Huff, and a 140.3-pound tarpon on 6-pound tippet, caught with Captains Steve and Chad Huff. Nathaniel is currently pursuing the 4-lb tippet world record for a permit weighing over 24lbs.  He serves as a Trustee of the International Game Fish Association.
