Things You Should Know

Tipping

FKEYS FF G.JPG

Please remember these professionals earn their living through the services they provide and the knowledge they have amassed.  To many it may seem the wonderful dream life to live to fish everyday, but every dream has a reality.  The reality is it is not cheap to live in paradise, have a well-kept expensive boat, put in 10 – 12 hours a day of fishing a client, cleaning all the equipment after a long day on the water, tying replacement flies, keeping the business side up to date and preparing for the next day’s charter while your client is at the bar or dinner table with friends and family enjoying your days success and stories of adventure.

Please consider all this when it comes time to book your Captain/Guide and tip them deservingly after your day’s charter.  Treat them as you would like to be treated, you might find a true friend for a lifetime both on the water and off.

The day before, check in with your guide and offer to bring lunch.  Find out his/her preferences and if you are not familiar with the area, they can tell you a good place to go to pick up lunch the night before.
